Ask a licensed provider

Injectables consultation requests

Who may give injectables is set by Georgia law. A licensed provider can talk through wrinkle relaxers and fillers with you at a consultation.

What injectables cover

Injectables at a med spa usually fall into two groups. Wrinkle relaxers are a purified protein injected in small amounts into specific facial muscles. Dermal fillers are gels, many based on hyaluronic acid, placed under the skin in chosen areas.

Both are given by licensed providers where state law allows. Who may inject is set by state rules, so in Georgia the provider might be a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or registered nurse, depending on those rules and any supervision they require.

A consultation comes first. The provider asks about your health and what you want to discuss, and decides what is suitable.

Things to tell an injector up front

Some details change what an injector will suggest, so mention them early:

  • any injectables you have had before, with dates if you know them
  • any reaction you had, even a mild one
  • dental work or vaccines coming up soon
  • recent illness or a skin infection near the area
  • a big event in the next few weeks
  • pregnancy, plans to become pregnant, or breastfeeding

A licensed provider uses this to decide what is suitable and when. Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows, under Georgia rules on who may inject.

Getting ready for an injectables consultation

Before an injectables consultation, take ten minutes to write a few notes:

  • the area or areas you want to ask about
  • a list of medicines and supplements, including aspirin, fish oil and vitamin E
  • allergies, including to numbing creams
  • any past injectables, with dates and where you had them
  • whether you are pregnant, planning to be, or breastfeeding
  • events in the coming weeks, since bruising can show

Bring the notes with photo ID and your questions. A licensed provider uses them to decide what is suitable.

Questions about injectables

Who can give injectables in Georgia?

Who may inject is set by state rules, and they differ. Depending on the rules, injectors may include physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners or registered nurses, sometimes under supervision. Injectables are always given by licensed providers where state law allows. Ask any provider what license they hold and who supervises them.

What is the difference between wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers?

Wrinkle relaxers are a purified protein injected into specific muscles, and they act on muscle movement. Dermal fillers are gels placed under the skin in chosen areas. They are different products with different techniques. A licensed provider can explain both and decide what, if anything, is suitable for you.

Does this site inject anyone?

No. This site is not a clinic and has no providers. It passes your consultation request to a local provider in or near Atlanta. Any injectable is given by a licensed provider where state law allows, after a consultation where they decide what is suitable.

One form, one local provider, and your questions answered before any decision.
